The day in Pamplona during the Fiesta can be quite long. The town gets very, very dirty. The Bullrun is at 8am, the Bullfight at 6:30pm. If you are not into drinking for the next 10 hours, wade on vomit and breathe pee vapours, then a wise choice could be leaving Pamplona for a while, going to discover what actually the Spanish culture is made of (which is not the binge drinking). A ganaderia is a fighting-bull breeding farm, and breeding bulls for bullfight is an art and a science combined. You will then see both the Encierro and the bullfight from another perspective after this visit. This facility is not normally open to tourists, it’s a favour I get from a friend: here you’ll experience what “passion” for this very special, traditional work means. We’ll have a brunch at the farm and most of all a safari among the bulls in free range on the hill with a pickup truck.
